Trade Unionists criticise bill changing early retirement regulations

The demaonstartions were held in the city and and the Parliament building in protest against government plans to cut the number of people taking early retirement to 240,000 from about 1 million. The unionists have threatened to continue their protest action until the government drops its plan. This was the last peaceful demonstration of the unionists – regional Solidarity leader Piotr Duda said. He added that from now on, Solidarity activists will also visit the offices of MPs from the ruling Civic Platform and the Polish Peasant Party to present their arguments. They are not planning a general strike yet, treating it as a last resort
